Well, since it's this time of the year, time to review 2009.

All in all, even if there are things I'm not really proud of, I wouldn't change 2009. It was a good year. Mostly. The good outshined the bad and that's enough for me.
And with a bit of luck, 2010 will be even better.

Je suis en train de réfléchir sérieusement à mon costume de carnaval. J'ai décidé d'aller vers le steampunk pour ce costume. Si je vais attendre les soldes pour certains trucs (les bas ou collants, la chemise), il y a des trucs qu'il faut que je commence maintenant si je ne veux pas me retrouver comme tout le temps à finir mon costume à cinq minutes du départ.

J'ai déjà vu des trucs sur ebay qu'il faut que je commande. Et là, je souffre parce que ebay, j'aime pas. Mais j'ai pas trop le choix. Ou alors sur etsy. Je crois que je vais partir dans les tons verts... mais ça peut encore changer.

Pour l'instant, je vais commencer par faire les accessoires : l'ombrelle métallique, les bijoux (plastique fou, mon ami!), les goggles (je veux un truc sur un oeil seulement genre eye-patch), la déco du chapeau , etc . Mais faut que j'achète tous les tissus en même temps, sinon je me connais, les couleurs n'iront pas ensemble... je suis le genre à me retrouver avec 4 sortes de noir différentes... alors imaginez pour du vert...


Je me suis passée ça une bonne partie de la journée entre deux épisodes de séries télés que j'avais en retard. Et en plus le clip est plutôt amusant.

It was a great book. I can't recommend it enough.

Which is pretty much how I was feeling after I finished with the 6th novel of the Tony Hill & Carol Jordan books written by the amazing Val McDermid.

Il était deux heures du matin et j'étais épuisée mais ravie d'avoir passé un autre 25 décembre avec un bouquin de Val Mcdermid. Ca devient une espèce de tradition ça aussi. XD

Bref, encore un McDermid qui est génial. Et avec l'horreur, le truc en plus qui te fait froid dans le dos comme je n'avais pas trouvé dans Beneath the bleeding. Que demander de plus ?

Hier soir, nous étions tous chez mon grand-père pour le traditionnel réveillon bruyant et fouilli avec toute la famille. J'ai beaucoup ri (comme une dinde), et Pete était persuadé que j'étais bourrée alors que franchement, à Noël j'ai pas besoin d'alcool pour être extrêmement joyeuse et riante. En plus, être soule avec juste un verre de champagne... c'est triste quoi XD
Bref, super sympa, toujours la même chose d'année en année (moins les cheveux de Flo). Et on a presque pas chanter de chansons paillardes par contre les chansons de dessins animés si... OUPS.

Ma tante avait été étonnée de voir un truc aussi vulgaire qu'un calendrier Royo sur ma wishlist amazon mais ça l'a pas empêchée de me l'offrir. ♥ ma tatanne ♥
Oui, je suis un peu vulgos. Mais j'assume. Les dessins sont super beaux quand même et en plus c'est celui sur Dead Moon qui est quand même beaucoup plus gentil que les autres.

Mes verrines étaient heuuu pas terribles en fait. La poire roquefort était ok, mais l'effiloché d'endives et saint-jacques aurait été meilleure chaude et la dernière était trop acide... Bref, déception de ce côté là.

On est rentré il devait être une heure du matin, et j'ai lu jusqu'à 3h. Et quand je me suis réveillée, à 10h, j'ai appris que ma tante Lili, son mari et son fils Pete et Papy arrivaient à 13h. OUPS bis. Bref, j'ai mis un coup de turbo mais quand ils sont arrivés j'avais la tête dans le cul encore.

A 16h, j'ai été porté des cookies et de l'egg-nog aux deux courageux qui tenaient la patinoire cet aprèm et j'ai regardé ma mère faire du patin. Elle a mis genre 30 min à comprendre que non, c'était pas de la vraie glace. XD

J'ai mis la recette avec comme ça je la retrouverai plus facilement la prochaine fois. J'ai cherché la précédente pendant 50 ans sans la retrouver... résultat : mon lj et ses tags sont sûrs, mes bouts de papier, bizarrement, beaucoup moins.

D'ailleurs, en parlant de Tournan, hier c'était le dernier conte de l'avent. Et c'est dans ce genre de moments que je me rappelle pourquoi j'adore passer autant de temps avec ces gens même si je dois me taper la tête contre les murs parfois.
On devait être que deux (moi parce que je m'en occupe plus ou moins depuis le début et le psycho parce que c'est le psycho qui devait finir) mais Laurence est arrivée, suivi de Sandrine et sa famille, suivi de Maryse et sa famille... je veux dire, on avait tous autre chose à faire à 18h15 le 24 décembre mais bon, on était là, des enfants étaient venus écouter et manger des bonbons, c'était fun et voilà. Bon esprit, bonne ambiance. ♥

Voilà, je vais finir cette bonne journée par un peu de lecture. Tony Hill me voici ! Rien ne dit mieux Joyeux Noël que des cadavres et des tueurs en série. ♥

I swear that girl is going to drive me bat-shit crazy. I could have had a perfect day full of christmas cheer and happy thoughts and cooking but she almost ruined my day by her incompetency. And she is such a liar. And a big time wasting bitch.

Leaving the subject of that sad excuse of a human being right now.

I made some delicious cinnamon star cookies for the nice people of the city hall while watching Stardust. I love this movie.
What do stars do ? They shine !
It always made me very silly and very happy. Just the right set of mind for this time of year.
And then the bitch made me so angry I lost my temper We ate the star cookies and talk a bit before the children's tale of the day.

And tonight after watching the second and last part of Cartouche (which was very bad but made me think of BBC's Robin Hood with all the eye-liner, the too neat and new clothes and the sexy bad guy in black... well that guy wasn't nearly as hot as Richard Armitage but you know what I mean) I made one of the yule logs everybody loves (especially my aunt Tatanne) while I watch St Trinian (I'm so jealous of lilibel who have seen the 2nd one this week... GRRR).

Tomorrow I have many many things to cook. And I'll doing my cooking with songs and movies. It's going to be awesome.

Hell yes. I do a marathon of Christmas movies every year. The Xmas music begins as soon as the NaNoWriMo is over but I usually don't have the time to watch any movie before the fifteenth. And I'm a bit late this year because I haven't seen one yet. I'll just have to watch them while I'm cooking today and tomorrow.

- RENT! (made me cry every time but feeling quite positive at the end)

Je me suis tapé des corrections d'invitations et FM et AS sont venus me chercher à 18h pour le conseil d'administration de 17h30 pour que je puisse faire le quorum. T_T

Quant à Maryse, elle s'est ouvertument foutu de ma gueule au téléphone.

Sinon ça va quand même, même si j'en ai ma claque de tousser et de parler tout bas ou super bizarrement.

Where the wild things are
So I really liked it. It was original, touching, funny. Not only for kids for sure. It is full of poetry, and you can see deep down in the little boy imagination, hopes and fears. In a way I found some parts quite hard because it shows how life can be hard for kids too.
And I can add the great OST, the great acting and all the great design. I really liked that the "monsters" were "real" too. It wasn't (or not only at least i don't really know) CGI and it gave so much realism, so much freshness compared to all the stuff that come out these days.
So really you can give it a try, you won't be disappointed

Everyone is talking about it. I was very impatient to see it and I wasn't disappointed :D
So first, about the design, the images, it is the most beautiful blockbuster ever. I saw it in 3D and it was so real, so full of colors. You only want to be there to touch it. And some scenes really touched me thanks to these beautiful images. All the scene with Eywa and the spirits were the most beautiful ever.
About the story, I must honestly say that it was really basic. Human invading a planet to make money and the na'vis (aliens from there) trying to defend their land. So well, we already saw that a thousand times. But... I was really into it and I think it's because the na'vis were real. they were not some cheap aliens, with odd religion, barely developed... we were completely immersed in their culture, in their land. We're discovering them with Jack (Sam Worthington, the hero lol) and I feel like they really exist because of the details Cameron gave to them.
Another thing is that it reminds me a lot a Mononoke Hime, a bit americanized of course but the main ecologist theme was there, the bond with the nature, Neytiri (the "woman" lol) reminds me of San as they are both strong female with strong beliefs, and there's plenty other stuff.
The music was a bit so so... sometimes it was great but sometimes it was like all the symphonic musics you hear in this kind of movie...
The only thing that i didn't really like so much was the end (not all the end but some parts... let's say it was too basic in a way) ... but i won't spoil out loud so...

About the acting... well... I LOVE SAM WORTHINGTON XD ok, he's not the best actor ever, but this role was really a good one for him, with his puppy eyes and all XD
So well, GO SEE AVATAR !!! lol
And I even liked Michelle Rodriguez (who I hate most of the time lol)

Just great.
Robert is so good it hurts.
Jamie Foxx was really astonishing.
The story is about the encounter between a reporter (RDJ) and a schizophrenic cello genius homeless guy and all their relationship.
It's not an easy theme really but it doesn't fall into drama. It's not the happiest film ever but it was treated with humility and didn't fall into drama that makes you cry again and again.
and really... I think cello has the most beautiful sound of the world.
So again, go see it, it is really wort it.

je vais sans doute dormir jusqu'à 10 ou 11h par contre. Mais c'est pas graaaave. I'm happy !

Je sais, c'est pas nouveau.

Ce soir, il y a un café-concert autour du thème de Noël. Des standards de Noël repris façon rock. Et en plus il y a des potes qui jouent.

Et tout ce que j'arrive à me dire : c'est oh putain, il fait froid, je risque de me casser quelque chose sur le verglas et je vais avoir mal aux oreilles.

Ouais, le rock j'aime. Sur cd. Quand je peux baisser le volume et qu'il n'y a pas de fumeurs, de buveurs de bières ou de brailleurs à côté de moi. Je suis pas très concert en fait quand il faut être debout.
